sending birthday wishes this evening to one of the coolest girls on the planet.
happy birthday alissa mae! miss you.
having just learned that stupid alexa chung owns several pairs of my beloved karen walker northern lights sunglasses I’ve only day dreamed of having in my possession, I find myself now only wanting them more. thanks a lot alexa.
ellen was on the daily show tonight promoting her new movie, the east. I think I had kinda forgotten about how rad she is. smart, quick witted, hilarious and a total mega babe. signed, longstanding member of the EP fan club :)

saying jack and diane got less than stellar reviews from critics and the general public since it’s initial debut at the tribeca film festival last year, is almost being kind. heck, it’s got a rotten tomatoes rating of 9%. still, I first started reading about the director’s story idea a couple of years ago (ellen page and olivia thirlby were originally secured for the leads) and had been pretty psyched about a “teenage lesbian love story with werewolf overtones”. so when I saw it pop up in my netflix instant feed last night, I immediately clicked play. and I have to say, it was pretty much the perfect friday night, date with myself, selection.
without getting too deep into this film I’ll just say that I loved this movie. though I’d probably not recommend it to the majority of my pals, it fulfilled my love for coming of age, lesbian cinema to a tee. I could seriously watch hours of juno temple (diane) and riley keough (jack) just talking and hanging out with each other. they both have such strong onscreen presences and are both so god damn attractive. it’s superficial yes, but I can’t help myself. this is guilty pleasure viewing at it’s finest. not to mention that the music, the clothing, all the amazing shots of new york, and the almost guillermo del toro-ish inspired moments, worked for me completely.
and yes, if riley keough looks familiar, you may remember her from the runaways, she played cherie currie’s sister, marie.
please enjoy this super amazing photo of natasha, chloe, and friends. so good, right?!
lots of repeat trips to issues these days, KStew’s still ruling the magazine scene if you haven’t noticed.
ellen was on craig ferguson tonight. almost had forgotten how rad and dorky she is. and though the reviews haven’t been great, I’m still pretty stoked to see her, greta, and jesse together in the new woody allen. june 22nd!
message I received on my phone today:
hi callie, this is jenny from issues calling to let you know that we set aside two magazines for you, both which feature kristen stewart on the cover. we’ll hold them for one week before they’ll go back on the shelf. thanks.
true story.
had I seen this picture before now, I might have been convinced to attend this year’s coachella festival.
I know I know, kinda pathetic that this is all that it takes. but COME ON!!
