Camp Cozy

while stalking the internets for a particular children’s illustrator from the 1960’s this evening in hopes of stumbling across some new tattoo inspiration, I landed on a blog I had completely forgotten about. animalarium may be the best collection of animal illustrations that I’ve come across in my web travels. featuring illustrations from all over the world and for all ages; if you didn’t know already, you may be amazed by the hundreds of psychedelic trippy childrens books that were published during the 1960’s, 70’s, and early 80’s. it’s nothing short of spectacular.

completely cozy and catastic, where has this bomber been all my life?

I’m a little behind on the current season of project runway but from what I have seen, this is one of my favorite seasons. they’ve got a good mix of experience and personalities and noone so annoying that it’s made me want to give up altogether (something that has happened more than once before in prior seasons). the only thing that’s bummed me out so far is finally deciding on a favorite designer to root for during the episode that said favorite got dismissed. doesn’t that always figure? oddly enough, after googling his name, I discovered that he (joseph aaron segal) was also the head wizard behind pretty snake, a line of unnaturally bright sweaters, tank tops, mini skirts, and tote bags embellished with googley-eyed cats wearing bow-ties that I had previously favorited on etsy. and now I’m even more bummed that he’s out. I guess I’ll have to pick up one of joseph’s totes to help aid in the recovery process ;)

so I can’t remember the last time I paid full price for something at the gap but yesterday I came pretty darn close. it took all my will power to not take home this super rad, catastic button-down. well, will power and the fact that they didn’t have any more in my size. :/

our cats have been acting so cray today - talking up a storm, hanging out in weird places they never have before, etc.

I thought maybe there was a full moon tonight but I was wrong. it’s a new moon!

wowzow received a pretty sweet teepee (cattipi) for xmas that I posted about previously which she’s completely crazy for. still, I can’t help wondering if she or petey might also be into cozing up in one of these amazing and design friendly modern feline thrones. I’m doing my best to avoid turning our apartment into a cat crazy mecca and so far have done pretty well with avoiding carpeted cat towers, unsightly patterned cat beds, etc… but I might be starting to fold. a little. and I hope the teepee wasn’t the tipping point for a cat pod bonanza.

there sure is a whole lotta crap goin on these last couple of days. greeting wow and pete when I come through the door has easily become my favorite part of the day. here’s hopin y’all have something equally as cozy and plump :) to comfort you in these stressful times. xo

received my datter watchful eye ring in the mail yesterday and am over the moon. it’s definitely my new favorite piece of jewelry. and what I learned today after doing some further internets snooping is that kaye blegvad (the rad lady behind datter) is also an amazing illustrator and creator of cat head garlands. I KNOW.
