it was a lady friend heavy weekend and it reminded me that I really should go out of my way to make more friend dates. cause let’s be honest, they’re pretty much the bestest. saturday I had my hair lightened by one of the best colorists in the universe and sweetest ladies ever who also happens to share an obsession for cats, sofia coppola, and clare vivier handbags. if you live in the bay area and need a recommendation, hit me up! after hair stuff, I enjoyed a movie date with a bestie followed by champagne, gin, and a massive catchup sesh. and later I capped off the night with a house visit from a long time friend out from chicago who made her way over from milpitas to drink late night beers and chat about old friends. then yesterday I had a friend date at dear mom (told you, it’s becoming a habit!). the first in years and I think, no I’m pretty sure, that it went splendidly. we were both kinda nervous and naturally boozed it up a bit, BUT I’m pretty confident I made a new buddy. and I’m pleased to know that I can still make new friends in my 30’s, yay!

uh-oh, look what arrived in the mail today! Jay gave me a hard time for ordering the paperback version overseas (still hardback only in the states) but honestly, I’m proud of the $1.50 I saved. plus, it only took just five weeks to get here! :/

so I did it. I finally bought two records I’ve been wanting for a while but have been too embarrassed to purchase at my local record store. I realize I could have just ordered them online, but if I can, it feels much better putting the money back into a small time, mom & pop record shop. so I picked up both at the same time last week, judgment free, from a tiny record store in tempe, arizona, smack dab in the middle of a strip mall. they were ridiculously pricey, like over $20 a pop, but oh so worth it. happy guilty pleasure saturday!
