oh saturday: spent the afternoon in the city getting my hair did, met up with a bestie for high tea & drinks at the rotunda at neiman marcus - just as snooty and fabulous as it sounds, and finally selected and confirmed our home in berlin for when we visit in october. and guys, I am more than just a little bit excited.

the long awaited beach boyz n the hood tees are finally coming! beginning next friday, oakland surf club will be joining forces with the amazing bay area illustrator justin hager by releasing t-shirts and skateboards featuring this rad graphic. the first batch should be hot off the presses for oakland’s first friday party on june 7th.

Soderbergh takes on Liberace:

it’s been a long, long time since I deliberately abandoned a work obligation after not being able to pull myself away from one of terry’s interviews… and with someone I’ve never been particularly enamored by no less. last week’s fresh air interview with film director steven soderbergh did just that. the timely interview was broadcast in anticipation of the amazing liberace biopic that aired last sunday night, behind the candelabra. I know amazing is an especially overused word as of recently and to be honest, it really doesn’t give michael douglas and/or matt damon’s performances justice. what mr. soderbergh and company were able to put together in just two short hours was nothing short of astonishing, heartfelt, and… dazzling. this interview is not to be missed.

I know it sounds strange but this stuff… is amazing. I’m far from being a big lush fan, the staff typically make me a little nervous and I think in general that their products are pretty pricey & overhyped for what they are. but what they do well, I believe they do very, very well. case in point (and my favorites) - their bath bombs/bars & karma kream. :)

I was recently given a sample of one of their newbies that they seemed to be pushing heavily - ro’s argan body conditioner. I was a little skeptical and not sure I really got it, a cream to use as you would hair conditioner, but for your body? still, I liked how it smelled and I love samples, so when offered I didn’t refuse a mini trial tub of it.

one week later, my sample’s long gone and I’m admittedly totally jonesing for more. for those with super dry, seemingly endlessly thirsty skin, this stuff will probably become your new favorite thing. I put it on all over my legs after I shaved, waited a couple minutes, then rinsed it off and when I got out of the shower, it was like my legs were already totally hydrated, silky feeling, and needed no lotion. as far as the fragrance, rose can be hit or miss for me but this scent is super dreamy - a mixture of rose and incense, not old lady floraly but modern and mysterious. anyway, I think I may be officially hooked. my skin has never felt or smelled better. and it will also leave your bathroom smelling amazing for days. powerful stuff!
