OAKLAND LOVES T-REX! so between yesterday and today, I have heard t-rex playing in 3 of my fave oakland hangouts. and I know marc bolan is the cat’s pajamas and everything, but isn’t that a little, well… much? yesterday as I was studying at commonwealth, I did my best to not hum along to the entirety of the slider. then, when we went to pick up sandwiches from the new ikes downtown last night, they were blasting get it on. and finally, walking into remedy this afternoon, I was starting to think oakland was playing a weird glam rock prank on me- hello mambo sun. electric warrior had just started, and as I looked around and saw people nodding their heads in approval and/or tapping one or both of their feet, it was a total high fidelity moment. verdict’s in, oakland hearts t-rex. big time.
