even though I’m not technically in school right now, doesn’t mean I can’t make my own back to school required reading list :)
today I learned I had a mini-milestone workiversary over the weekend; ten years (how did that happen!) at my current job. this morning I received an email at work congratulating me on my dedication and commitment to the company and as a token of their gratitude, there was a link to a company sponsored site featuring a small random assortment of gifts, of which I am allowed to select from. anyway, not only are these “gifts” not so great, some of them are just shy of insulting. items include household basics like rachael ray brand pots & pans, a screwdriver kit, a “business class” backpack (with no description as to what makes it business class), a very basic looking camera, but the stand alone obvious winner has to be the wine glass. yup. one glass. a singular wine glass in exchange for ten years of my life.
still, I’m seriously contemplating the wine glass which could double as a pen/pencil holder to showcase in my cubicle :/
wallpaper. how I adore it! this company out of portland, oregon, makes the handprinted wallpaper. new wallpapers. for your living spaces. and they’re so so good.
all grow’d up!
stayed up late to watch tavs on jimmy fallon last night, it was a short interview but of course was most excellent.
today’s chilly temperatures had me daydreaming about one of my all time favorite articles of clothing - the leather jacket. the perfect leather jacket is one of those main wardrobe staples that I’m always on the lookout for. I fantasize about owning one that I could basically live in during the cooler months, which can be a good portion of the year here in the bay area.
I thought I had discovered “the one” at urban a few months back, a looser vintage inspired jacket with a silver buckle at the hem. that is, until I spied this one recently on madewell’s website. madewell calls it the “perfect leather motorcycle jacket” and I think it might be. what I like most about it is the black on black hardware and the fitted sleeves. think I’m gonna have to try this guy on asap!
I can’t help it. if I’m home and have a couple hours before I have to head out for a show, there’s nothing I like to do more to get pumped up to see a band then pulling out my favorite albums, pouring myself a drink, and turning up my stereo real, real loud. it’s totally nerdy but it gets me so stoked. especially since these days the thought of staying out past 10 on a weeknight fills me with anxious feelings and concern about not getting a good night’s sleep…
anyway, I haven’t listened to built to spill in ages and now three albums deep, I am so completely excited for this show tonight you have no idea :D
for your x-files party. which for me, has become most evenings in my apartment :)
this is my current fave rosé and not only is it a) affordable ($15), b) convenient to find - just a 5 minute walk down the hill to my local whole foods, and c) super tasty (on the drier side with noticeable strawberry, watermelon, and citrus flavors) but it’s also totally extraterrestrial. there’s a very subtly placed flying saucer on the label (I didn’t even notice it the first couple times I purchased), and a bonus alien on the twist-off cap. far out!
