I’d say I was over all pretty pleased with how I faired at my local record shop yesterday. people were lined up around the block way before 8 AM on saturday morning but when I arrived around at a much snoozier 11:30 or so, I only had to deal with about 10-15 folks waiting outside. I was most excited about the flying nun dunedin double reissue featuring songs from the chills, sneaky feelings, the stones and the verlaines. they only put out 2000 of these guys and the original double 7”, if you can find it, goes upwards of $200. I snagged the last one at my shop! and have already listened to it several times. SO GOOD. also managed to pick up built to spill’s first album, and my second favorite BTS record (tho admittedly one of the world’s ugliest album covers of all time!) which was NEVER on vinyl until now. gold vinyl to boot. so so happy to have this guy in my collection. other scores included a 7” of the stranglers peaches on green vinyl, the nirvana 7” of pennyroyal tea, and of course thee oh sees latest full length, drop, which they saved to release on RSD.
misses were the devo live at max’s kansas city 12” and the REM unplugged sessions 1991/2001 which were long gone by the time I had arrived. guessing the REM 4xLP was super pricey so maybe I wouldn’t have ended up purchasing but man, it really sounded pretty spectacular.
