johnny depp 90’s love, steve buscemi eyes, or topless lena dunham… how ever shall I decide??

I used to carry around a super tiny notebook with me out of habit. I don’t think I really used it all that frequently, only when I needed to jot something down that I didn’t want to forget, or occasionally to compile a grocery list, or records I’ve been wanting, or for bar hangman/masher/tic-tac-toe, etc. in fact, I’m pretty sure I still have a super beat up one lying somewhere in the bottom of my handbag. one that has absolutely no room left in it but I can’t bring myself to get rid of.
anyway lately I’ve found I’ve been using the little note function on my iPhone. kinda a lot. I guess it’s just that it seems to be the most convenient way to not forget something, especially when I never seem to have a pen on me. there are two notes in particular that I started a while back that I keep adding to. the first is a jukebox list. I started it about a year ago out of pure frustration when I kept being continually confronted with the obnoxious and pricey internet jukebox which has slowly but surely been replacing the beloved classic coin-operated jukebox machines at my favorite bars across the city. it’s one thing to have consumed several boozy beverages and then try to come up with 3 perfect drinking tunes from a selection of say 25 to 40 albums. but it’s another thing altogether to be drunk and staring at a search engine and for whatever reason not one single band or musician comes to mind. besides say, led zeppelin. hence my jukebox list. I now have a solid 50+ guaranteed winners (to me anyway!) to reference next time I come across said intimidating machine that takes all of my money when I’m tipsy.
the second note is a top 20 albums of all time list. this list changes pretty frequently, and I find myself adding to it often. it’s also surprised me how much satisfaction I’ve gotten out of just putting it together. and looking over my favorites, reorganizing from number one to number twenty, removing certain albums, and adding others, depending almost primarily on my mood. and yeah, the list is pretty manic, all over the place, and if I’m totally honest, entirely self-involved. but that’s also what makes it so much fun. it’s for me, and I get to be as selfish and nonsensical as I see fit. anyway, I’m not about to go boring my two friends reading this with my top 20, but I will say that supertramp’s breakfast in america was added about six months ago. and although it’s moved around a bit since, it’s never been bumped entirely from the list. the record has been on some serious heavy rotation this summer and over the weekend I decided I needed it on cd as well. I’ve been blasting it in my crv since saturday and let me tell you, my ride to and from work today was a complete blur :D

this tee! my pick for favorite t-shirt of the month is currently just $15 at your local gap. nothing is under twenty bucks these days so I was pretty excited to find such a great score. bought the “burnout boyfriend tee" in true black (seen above - more like a charcoal) over the weekend and have thrown it on as soon as I’ve gotten home from work every day this week. it’s not as long as most of the tees I’ve been favoriting lately but I kind of like the change-up. wear it with a pair of jeans you think your butt looks good in and you’ve got the perfect not-trying outfit. it is SO SOFT.

good night to throw on this album. I guess harvest moon would be the obvious choice but I can never not choose this guy.
happy super moon friends!

every now and again I get so excited about a beauty product (mac liquid eyeliner, fat & the moon's deodorant cream, caudalie's beauty elixer… ) that I feel the need to tell EVERYONE I know about it. there's so much trial & error involved with skincare and makeup that I feel like it's the least I can do as a friend and as an admitted total sucker for fancy skincare crap, to share my favorites from the sea of overpriced options out there.
today’s endorsement is my pick for best face mask on the market. if you’re looking for one mask that does it all, eve lom's rescue mask is it. having ultra dry/sensitive skin, and a fear of facials, I will attest that this guy is safe for skin wimps and will not make you break out in hives (sadly a common reaction for me with anything slightly harsh and/or synthetic). and yes it's a little spendy ($50 for a tube) but from what I've seen out there, it's pretty competitive price wise, and one tube can last me anywhere from 9 months to a year as I typically use it about once a week, sometimes once every other week. basically anytime I realize I'm on the verge of a crazy I'm way too old for this breakout (i.e. can't remember the last time we washed our pillow cases :/ ) - I leave this guy on for 15-20 minutes before I go to bed, follow-up with a light moisturizer and wah-lah, the next morning my skin has never looked so amazing. ok, that may be going a little far but you get the idea. besides breakouts it can also be used as a weekly pick-me-up mask for when your skin's needing a little boost or refresher. and I also love the scent. if you're not into strong eucalyptus-ish fragrances, you may not be, but to me it smells like it's supposed to, it smells like a serious face mask that's not effing around!
